How disappointed we were to hear that an event such as this has had to be cancelled all due to funds and sponsorship not being made available. 

This decision has surely been made without any consideration of what the above event brings to your district – not only does it show off Inverell and surrounds but must surely add to the economy of the area with visitors from near and far. And what a benefit for young artists to be able to perform at such an event.

As can be seen by the address below we are not local and by coming to Opera In The Paddock we have come to appreciate this beautiful and friendly part of Australia.

Peta Blyth and family have worked tirelessly over many years for this event to happen and what a disappointment this must be to them.

We ask through your newspaper that sponsors reconsider for the future the value of the event.
