Both sides have won just one of their four games and trail co-leaders Joblink Plus and Loco Hotel by four points (two points a win).
This afternoon McDonald’s tackle Joblink Plus at Dick Edwards Oval while Halpin Plumbing has a do-or-die match against Loco Hotel at Riverside 2.
“We need a couple of big wins with a lot of sixes,” Halpin Plumbing franchisee Matt Halpin said yesterday.
Even a victory still leaves the two sides one win adrift, which means their final round game next Friday would also be a desperate bid to make the December 14 final.
The Halpin Plumbing side may also take the field with black armbands in memory of Jim Crowe, grandfather of allrounder Josh Crowe.
Halpin is hoping Josh can lead the way as a tribute to his late grandfather, a noted sportsman in Tamworth over many years, who passed away on Monday evening after a battle with cancer.
MCDONALDS TPL T/20 TABLE (run rates in bracket): Locomotive Hotel 6 (1.9941), Joblink Plus 6 (1.0243) McDonalds 2 (-1.2625), Halpin Plumping 2 (-1.5249).
