A man has been charged over a serious assault at Glen Innes yesterday morning.

About 1:30am on Sunday, a 30-year-old man was standing outside a hotel in Grey Street when he became involved in an argument with another man.
During the incident he was allegedly punched several times to the head before falling to the ground and hitting the back of his head on the footpath.
The man, from Glen Innes, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Armidale Hospital. He was later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a critical condition with head and facial injuries.
About 2:25pm yesterday detectives attended a house in Glen Innes where they arrested a 25-year-old man.
He was taken to Glen Innes Police Station and charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm and granted conditional bail to appear in Glen Innes Local Court on Tuesday 11 December 2012.
