The home club welcomed swimmers from a range of other centres but it was the locals who really excelled.
Among the 1200 entries, 54 Scully Park swimmers took part and one of the main aims was to clock country and state qualifying times.
Scully Park’s over 13 relay team also broke the pool record.
It wasn’t just a day for the kids either.
There was also a special 50m race for club sponsors and Andrew Tickle from New England Mutual proved the fastest.
The carnival is the start of a busy period for local swimmers, with Inverell hosting a meet next Sunday, followed by Warialda (December 1) and Narrabri (December 2) the following weekend.
