Work started on the corner of Griffin Ave and Brisbane St last Monday and a mid-December completion date has been pencilled in.
Tamworth Regional Council civil construction manager Graeme McKenzie said yesterday the bulk of the excavation work was finished and they’d started laying the stormwater pipes.
It’s then a matter of adding the electrics for the lighting, bringing in the road base and completing the kerbing and guttering.
There’ll be 113 car spaces, security lighting, landscaping and a footpath on the south and west sides.
$350,000 was set aside for the work and the Christmas deadline will ensure the car park is ready for the country music festival in January.
