When I was young, perhaps seven or eight, I couldn’t understand why all Australian people didn’t live in this wonderful place. I always felt safe, secure, surrounded by trusting and trustworthy people. In short, an idyllic childhood.
My wife and I recently arrived home to locate my father’s grave.
The consideration, empathy and determination shown by June at council chambers was extremely gratifying. She explained how some problems had arisen in locating some older cemetery records, but in less than 40 minutes she was able to give us an approximate site.
When we arrived at the cemetery, we were again helped to locate the grave by four young men who located further records and helped us courteously and considerately and solved my problem.
My thanks to some wonderful Tamworth people. Your hospitality lives on.
