Wendy Yarrow and Samantha Macaskill not only shared a birthday on Sunday but they both gave birth to their own children on the same day.
Tamworth resident Wendy, who is married to Simon, gave birth to a daughter Nicola Julie, weighing 3590g, at 6.52am.
Nicola was Wendy’s first child and arrived two days after her expected birth date.
“It’s a fantastic birthday present —and Simon can’t ever forget our birthday, or he’ll be in strife from two women,” she joked.
Samantha’s son, Harry Edward, arrived a few hours afterwards at 11.45am weighing 3317g, although he was not due until October 30.
Harry is the third son for Samantha and her husband Stuart, of Walcha.
Samantha said a few
“false alarms” had given her an
inkling Harry might arrive early.
“My first (James) arrived on the due date but my second child (William) was 18 days early,” she said.
Dr Keith Hollebone delivered both babies at Tamara Private Hospital as well as another baby, Libby, the daughter of Sheree and Anthony Painter, a Tamworth-based professional golfer.
He said it was a “coincidence” that the three children and two of the mums all shared the same birthday.
