Tradesperson Fitter

About the role

We are currently looking for multiple, reliable, and enthusiastic Fitters to join our Blast Furnace business unit in providing mechanical intervention and repairs at the blast furnace. The position is for a day shift fitter who will be capable of providing shift relief for the fitters on shift and also work overtime on an as needs basis.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Working closely within your workgroup in a variety of team-based and autonomous roles, maintaining various basic and complex machinery
• Improving the reliability of the assets by proactively supporting continuous improvement initiatives and activities
• Keeping accurate records of scheduled and breakdown maintenance using SAP
• Willingness to participate with competency-based training requirement.

This role starts on a 7.6 hour day shift, but will be moving to a 12 day shift roster in the near future.

Please note, that we may look to consider helping with relocation for suited candidates who are interstate.
 

About your experience

To be successfully considered for the available opportunity, we are looking to speak with people who can demonstrate:

• Fitter Trade Qualified Essential
• A high level of understanding and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
• Any Forklift/Dogging/Rigging tickets would be highly regarded
• Strong focus on safety and initiative with a can-do attitude
• Willingness to work as an active team player as well as independently 
• Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills along with a proactive approach
• SAP or similar experience would be beneficial.
