Senior Policy Manager

Your new company
An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated Senior Policy Manager to join a state government department based in the Sydney CBD. This department is seeking an individual with a wealth of experience to join them on a temporary basis for 5 months.

Your new role
In your role as a Senior Policy Manager, you will be responsible for identifying needs, developing, and implementing a suite of policies to ensure there is an effective interface between policy development and the subject matter. It will be crucial for you to break down complex processes into easy-to-understand documents for staff and key stakeholders. You will oversee working across a wide range of subjects such as legal, finance, and corporate services by providing quality analysis and advice on a range of areas in a timely manner.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. You will be someone who has at least 5-7 years of experience in policy with extensive knowledge in managing all aspects of the policy process. You will be self-motivated and a self-starter with the capability of working independently. An excellent knowledge of the machinery of government will be highly sought after along with excellent verbal and written communication skills due to interacting with a range of stakeholders.
