Your new company

Well-known for their positive mark in the Disability Sector, this Federal Agency is going through an exciting chapter within its Policy Branch aimed at a national implementation of key framework.

We are seeking policy professionals with well-rounded policy experience, government writing and experience within mental health / disability Sector.

Your new role
You will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management. The positions will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advise and operational support.

What you'll need to succeed
Applicants will a need to demonstrate;

• Strong project management skills including developing a project scope, consideration of risk, resource requirements etc.
• An ability to research and analyse data to develop policy documents.
• Strong ability to write for government, including policy reports, briefing papers, ministerial responses, discussion papers etc.
• Knowledge of the current state of the Mental Health/health/disability system across both state, territory and federal governments and proposed future systemic changes.
• An ability to strongly collaborate, consult and partner with both internal business areas and external stakeholders.
• An ability to work under pressure and to prioritise competing tasks.
• Be comfortable and confident in supporting colleagues in the team as well as working independently or as the lead on individual projects.
• An ability to treat information as sensitive and confidential.
• Desired: an understanding of Recovery-Oriented Practice and how it relations to people with psychosocial disability
• Desired: strong knowledge and understanding of the NDIS including statutory requirements and legislation
