The Company Profile:

Our client has been proudly manufacturing aluminium products for over 55 years, dedicated to innovation and continuing to service the industry on a national scale, and are looking to expand the team further by appointing an experienced Purchasing Officer.

The Inventory Demand and Purchasing Officer role is responsible for providing administrative and data entry support to the National Inventory Team. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that operations are maintained. On a day to day basis this position will report directly to the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager and take general direction from them in relation to their daily duties and assist with adhoc duties as required.

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive monthly/weekly ordering cycle for relevant portfolio
  • Analyze and report supplier DIFOT and supply related metrics
  • Maintain inventory levels within corporate levels while ensuring service levels are maintained
  • Monitor and minimise excess and obsolete inventory levels and develop strategies for reducing this inventory
  • Manage purchasing functions for respective portfolio
  • Ensure long term and strategic business relationships are maintained and built upon.
  • Identify purchasing opportunities based on market and supplier possibilities.
  • Update ERP with order details, status change and ETA once parts are in transit

What you will need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or similar administrative support role
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Exceptional computer skills, Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills for various reporting requirements
  • Strong work ethic and with a high attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work under pressure
