About Our Client

My client is a leading food manufacturer with sites across Australia, due to continued growth they are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead a large team across 2 shifts.

Job Description

With a safety-first approach and a continuous improvement mindset the Production Manager will be responsible for managing day to day plant operations while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through the on-time delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring new starters are on boarded effectively and paired up with a buddy
• Ongoing review of training programmes for supervisors, team leaders and production staff
• Reviewing and analysing customer complaint reports identifying areas of strength and opportunity
• Ensuring all plant SOP's and Toolbox talks are implemented
• Rostering of employees according to daily/weekly requirements
• Assisting in the development and implementation of recognition and other retention related programs
• Participating in performance management of employees
• 6 monthly performance reviews with supervisors utilising company performance review documentation
• Conducting scheduled production supervisor meetings
• Conducting team meetings providing information relevant to factory performance, section and company updates
• Striving to develop a culture of respect, care and professionalism
• Ensuring risks to health and safety are controlled and monitored in accordance with company process and schedules
• Liaising with Engineering Manager to maintain site requirements and improve production systems

• Experience running a large and varied food production site
• Successful in building and developing teams
• Experience in implementing lean/continuous improvement initiatives
