Full job description

About the role: 

The Conference Producer’s role is to develop and manage very senior level business-to-business conferences from inception to completion. This is done by researching an industry; identifying latest industry trends & developments and key leaders; writing a program/agenda; approaching and inviting expert speakers; curating the content; negotiating with supporting bodies to get behind the event; develop industry partnerships and connect with peak bodies and key people; and lots of social media engagement. In addition, part of your time would be collaborating with your assigned Marketing Manager to write website and sales copy to promote your event; as well as with your assigned Sponsorship Sales Managers to strategically place paid speaking spots onto the agenda.

Essential skills and experience include: 

  • Graduate with a minimum of two years experience in a corporate business environment
  • Business savvy and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Understanding of the conference & exhibition industry is an advantage, but not essential
  • Industry research skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills 
  • Communication and negotiation skills with the ability to develop to build business partnerships and networks
  • Exceptional phone and Zoom manner – not afraid to make a large volume of calls, book appointments and converse directly with senior-level business and government leaders
  • Convincing copy writing skills for websites and eDM's
  • Internet and technology savvy
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including MS Office
  • Ability to use CRM and understanding of databases 
  • Understanding of direct marketing principles
  • Understanding of social media and social media selling and marketing
  • Project Management skills with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Team player who is also comfortable working on your own

We organise large B2B trade shows and conferences, which provide business and government with a reliable and up-to-date source of information, as well as an effective way to network and do business. 

Our Australian office is recruiting for several roles, including new Conference Producers to join our busy production team.

Events have bounced back strongly after 2 years of Covid restrictions.

We have a portfolio of very large and respected conferences with hundreds of speakers and 1000's of attendees.
