Your new company
Our client is a public sector, education focused institution with multiple delivery offices across the region and they are are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to join their established sales team. The role we are hiring is full time hours (Cant accommodate part time) it is a permanent role and can be based in and around Brisbane (Once trained you will be able to base yourself from home or whichever local office suits you best each day) The salary will depend upon the individuals background but offering from $85-95k base plus super it is highly competitive for the right person and will also include 20% bonus plus access to a company vehicle. Hours are 8-5pm but there might be some slight flexibility if needed.
Your new role
Reporting into leadership your role as Business Development Manager will be to engage corporate/commercial clients to get them to use recommended providers for services in relation to disability, indigenous & employment services. This role will involve working as part of a small sales team but working hand in hand with wider departments within the organisation. As pert of your role, you will map out & target large, corporate clients, identify relevant contact points and call, email and visit them to establish a relationship and solution sell and promote a possible government funded product into their business. You will then manage that relationship through the "sales" cycle until sign up, filling out relevant contract paperwork along the way before handing the account off to an Account Management team. There will also from time to time be networking/ events to run and attend (sometimes after hours) as part of the promotion of the services. This role has strict KPI's around business development calls and client meetings however it is not your typical sales role and your performance will not be monitored on monetary, your bonus which is highly achievable is paid quarterly for completion of some activity targets.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will be an experienced business development professional with experience of managing a full sales cycle and ideally be able to solution sell. Excellent communication and presentations skills are essential. Good organisational and admin skills are a must. Ideally you will have had sales experience from working within an agency side recruitment role or from in a similar business development management role in the wider public sector space.
