Murderer Crump refused parole

Kevin Crump, who tortured and raped a Collarenebri woman, will die in jail after a High Court ruling denied his parole.

Crump's file was marked "never to be released" in 1974 when he was sentenced for conspiring to murder NSW mother of three Virginia Morse, whom he tortured and raped, and murdering Ian Lamb.

However a s change to NSW truth in sentencing laws meant he could apply for parole.

His lawyers had sought to challenge the Crimes Act but the High Court said today his life sentence should not change.
