The 30-year-old man was captured after a short foot pursuit in Ugoa Street in Narrabri on Friday morning.
Police took the man to Narrabri police station where he was charged with contravening an AVO, and resisting police.
He was denied bail to front court in Tamworth.
Meanwhile, the woman allegedly behind the wheel of the car has been granted bail.
The woman appeared in court on Friday where she pleaded guilty.
Magistrate Julie Soars found she was an unacceptable risk of failing to appear at court; committing a further serious offence; and endangering the safety of the community; but found several conditions could be imposed to mitigate the risks.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, must report to police once-a-week, and remain at a Narrabri address.
She's been ordered not to occupy the driver's seat of any vehicle, or drive.
She must be of good behaviour and not commit any further offences, and must surrender the keys to her car to her mother.
She has been ordered to front court in Narrabri in mid-June.
