A NEWCASTLE woman has been charged by detectives, accused of defrauding a family member of more than $120,000 in Gunnedah.

The woman, who lives in Cameron Park, has been released on bail on one count of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
Police will allege in court, she dishonestly obtained about $124,000 from a Gunnedah family member.

During this time, Oxley investigators allege the woman transferred funds from the man's account into her own account and used the money for personal use.
Police launched an investigation after the situation was reported to Gunnedah officers, which culminated in her arrest at Newcastle police station on Wednesday.
She has been granted bail to appear in Gunnedah Local Court in early March.
