It comes after it was revealed Tamworth airport saw a dip in annual passenger numbers over the last 12 months.

Undeterred, Virgin will provide an improved flight schedule from October 28.
“Virgin Australia is proud to provide the community of Tamworth with increased travel options,” Virgin boss, Rob Sharp said.
“These services will provide better flexibility when travelling to and from the Golden Guitar township and strengthen our presence across the region.”
The new schedule is in response to “growing demand” and it’s hoped it will provide a further boost to local tourism.
“The additional services will support local businesses and generate tourism growth and the updated schedule will also enable business travellers to spend the full working day in Sydney before returning home for the evening,” Mr Sharp said.
Under the new Virgin schedule, there will be two flights to-and-from Sydney every week day.
There’s one flight to Sydney on Saturday and Sunday and two flights from Sydney on the latter.
There has been some flux at the airport over the last 12 months with the departure, and eventual liquidation, of JetGo, as well as the adjustment of QantasLink’s schedule.
