Awards for peak performances in both first and second grade across the disciplines of the game were awarded to those cricketers that truly excelled over the last season.
Albion’s Brad Jenkinson took out the top prize as first grade player of the year, while Court House’s Farren Lamb was named player of the first grade grand final.
GDCA president Brad Gander said he was pleased to see so many awards be spread around the competition.
“I think all of the award winners are very deserving of there awards,” Gander said.
“It’s not been dominated by one single person, it’s been shared around, which shows the competition itself is not dominated by one-or-two cricketers.”
Mr Gander said he was pleased with the GDCA’s success at representative level, including the Gunnedah second grade’s Connolly Cup victory.
“I think the success we had in the first and second XI in representative cricket, was a massive step-up from previous years,” he said.
“To have some success at a higher level like that really shows where Gunnedah cricket is heading.”

GDCA secretary James Mack said the association will look to include more day-night games in next years fixture off the back of the success seen in the Gunnedah Premier League and one day final.
“Hopefully we will try to add to that day-night format and get each club involved in it next season,” Mack said.
“Obviously there is a few kinks to iron out, but I think the concept is something we can definitely work on, Tamworth is already doing it and I think it’s something we can definitely do as well.”
