The make-up of this Saturday’s Glen Innes Senior Cricket grand final was decided in two semi-final clashes with very different results. One went down to the wire while the other had a lopsided margin.

The Colts scraped through to the big dance after an extremely hard-fought win over Cavaliers.
Batting first, the Cavaliers lost key batsmen Greg Wilkins (3) and Darren Pithers (14) which had the Colts flying in the early stages of the match at King George Oval.
Cavaliers were 3-59 at the drinks break.
A tremendous effort from Rik Mastro, who scored a solid 51, helped the Cavaliers limp to 6-136 at the end of their 30 overs.
Mastro and Matthew Wharton (14 not out) were the best with the bat for the Cavaliers.

Bowling for Colts saw Michael Miller take 2-33 and Ritesh Shekhawat 2-24 while Tom Chard and Jake Baker picked up a scalp each.
Cavaliers started their innings with the ball on song.
Darren Pithers removed openers Steve Johnson (0) and Tom Chard (9) and, when Greg Wilkins removed the prize wicket of Ritesh Shekhawat for 10, the Cavaliers were on top.
Tom Benton (52) and a superb captain’s knock of 33 from Nathan Purvis saw the Colts scrape through to the grand final an a very tight encounter with only three overs remaining.
Final score Colts 6-138 def Cavaliers 6-136.
They have a tough ask to claim the trophy though with reigning premiers Emmaville easily accounting for Kings.
The current champions ripped through Kings for 42.
Next weeks grand final will see Colts play Emmaville at King George Oval from 1pm.
Umpires for the grand final will be Nigel Sharman and Greg Wilkins.
