While hospital might not be the happiest of places for little ones, Captain Starlight dropped in to the city’s Children's Ward to deliver moments of joy and laughter during a tough time.
There were bubbles, games and magic tricks during the brief visit with the Captain Starlight team brightening the day of the many young patients in the ward, and their families.
“Living with a serious illness can often deny children, young people and their families normal opportunities and experiences that are essential to their overall health and wellbeing,” Starlight’s CEO, Louise Baxter said.
“Starlight relies solely on the community and our partners to deliver programs such as Captain Starlight, and we couldn’t do it without their constant support.”
The Captain Starlight visit also marked a milestone with the Greater Charitable Foundation, which has provided more than $1 million in funding to help deliver the service for sick kids.
