Gunnedah police have made an arrest in relation to a stolen motor vehicle.

About 10.05pm on Monday, police attempted to stop the vehicle in Gunnedah that sped away from them.
Soon after, it was seen stopped in a reserve and the occupants fled, according to police.
The vehicle was confirmed as having been stolen shortly before, and evidence found at the scene led police to an address in Gunnedah where a 19-year-old man was spoken with and arrested.
He has been charged in connection with this incident.
Further inquiries will be made in relation to those who fled the vehicle, police said.
This arrest follows a number of incidents of stolen vehicles in the Gunnedah area over the past several weeks and police are continuing their investigations into those thefts.
It is again a timely reminder for people to ensure they take all reasonable precautions to safeguard their property by ensuring vehicles and houses are locked.
