Played on home turf, the Quirindi team proved too strong on Thursday.
QHS won 68-44 over Gunnedah in round two of the Combined High Schools knockout competition.
Teacher and coach Cody Beresford, thanked the Gunnedah team for making the journey to Quirindi High School and for their sportsmanship on and off the court.
“It was a high-energy game today and we appreciate the effort and the fair play of the Gunnedah team,” Beresford said on Thursday.
“Our boys are fired up for their game tomorrow. Farrer are normally a force to reckoned with so we are looking forward to taking them on.”
The match against Farrer was also played in the QHS multipurpose hall on Friday.
The home side wasn’t able to take out the win with Farrer proving too strong on the day.
