Former Calrossy student turned businesswoman Edwina Sharrock is the owner of Birth Beat and is a Rare Birds Ambassador.
She purchased copies of the book The 50 Most Influential Female Entrepreneurs in Australia and gifted one to each Tamworth secondary school and tertiary education provider.
She joined senior female students from all Tamworth high schools at a special International Women’s Day event on Thursday afternoon.
“I thought this was an opportunity for all female students and it led me to buying a copy for all schools,” she said.
“It’s a time in your life when you’re thinking what the future holds for you.
Young women, particularly living in regional Australia can create whatever business opportunities or jobs they want.

“I’ve had strong, fabulous support and I wanted to show the girls that it’s important to be inspired and say that they can do this too.

Mrs Sharrock was also on the panel for another International Women’s Day event hosted by JobLink Plus earlier in the day.
More than 60 women had gathered to speak about issues that impact women across the board, including mental health, childbirth, and women in leadership roles.
