Mayor Col Murray, Tamworth Regional Council business and community director John Sommerlad and entertainment venues manager Peter Ross will front a panel at a State of the City forum on March 27.
Council will deliver its regional economic update at the event, which is hosted by the Tamworth Business Chamber.
The city’s economic conditions, upcoming projects and planed projects including the proposed aquatic centre and the centre of sporting excellence will be under the microscope.
Chamber president Jye Segboer said the event had been what the business community had been “crying out for.”
“We get feedback all the time from the business community in regards to not understanding or being aware of the direct or future impact of large scale projects on their individual businesses and industries,” he said.
“We have heard you and taken this to Council. They are committed to delivering answers and outcomes to the business community at this event.
“This is an opportunity have your voice heard and move forward as a business community, Chamber and Council.
We need to start working towards the future together.
“An event such as this is a positive first step to cohesion and growth for Tamworth and the region.”
Mayor Col Murray said the event was a great opportunity to connect with the business community.
“It’s an information session and an opportunity for business houses to hear first-hand what council are doing and what future projects there are,” he said.
“It will be great to have the opportunity to field some questions.”
The State of the City forum will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at the Ibis Styles from 11.45am. The event is $45 for Chamber members and $65 for non-members and includes lunch, the panel discussion and Q & A session.
