About 8pm on Sunday, officers stopped a 19-year-old behind the wheel in Kanangra Road in Manilla.
He failed a roadside breath test and was arrested for drink driving.
An 18-year-old passenger was issued a $500 ticket after he used offensive language to police, abusing officers at the scene.
The driver was taken back to Manilla Police Station where they allege he recorded a blood alcohol reading of .134, and was charged with mid-range PCA and had his licence suspended.
The passenger went to the police station where police claim he unleashed a tirade of abuse at officers and was asked to leave.
Police claim the teenager left, and returned a short time later and continued a tirade of abuse at officers.
He was arrested and charged with using offensive language.
Both teenagers will front Tamworth court later this month.
