The group of daredevil horseback riders provided the crowds with thrills and death-defying stunts as well as helping to recreate the story of the events beginnings with a historical show.
High Velocity trick riding star Miah Bryant said the event was a huge success for the group.
“We are stoked with how it went, we couldn’t have asked for more,” Ms Bryant said.
“There was a lot involved in our two performances, but it was great to have the chance to help re-create the history of the event with the local pony club and the Lighthorse guys as well.” The Gunnedah local said pulling off a new trick was a highlight of her own performance.
“I had been working on a new trick where I get underneath my horse neck while,” she said.
“Unfortunately I fell off during practice but was able to pull it off in front of the crowd which was very exciting.”
It’s a packed schedule for the High Velocity Trick Riding team, as they gear up for their next performance at the Country Championships race meeting at Scone on March 18.
“That will be a big event for us because the meeting will be broadcast on television,” Ms Bryant said.
“After that we are back at home for the Gunnedah Show, which we are all really looking forward to.
“Following that though, we are heading up to the Gold Coast in June for the first time which is going to be awesome as well.”
