Redbacks skipper Brendan Rixon expects to see plenty of North Tamworth old boys at the match, ahead of the celebration at the Locomotive Hotel’s ballroom on Saturday night.
Fourth-placed Norths aim to cement a top-four spot with one regular-season round remaining after this match. They will resume at 2-52 chasing 188.
Crucially, Norths No.4 Michael Rixon, coming off a form-reviving 112 in last round’s narrow loss to Old Boys , is unbeaten on 18 while his older brother, the scorer of three tons this year, is still to bat.
Michael will be joined at the crease by Craig Haestier (five not out).
City United skipper Brad Smith last week lamented not removing Michael.
City are 2.34 points behind Norths on the ladder, and are coming off a last-start outright win over West Tamworth.
Brendan said: “With Michael at the crease, I’m pretty happy where we’re sitting … Hopefully we can get the runs we need and set ourselves up for the final-round game.”
