Openers Brendon Ward and Rod Kirk, and skipper Tom Craig all struck half centuries as Tatts amassed an imposing 7-276.
“Wardy and Kirky got us off to a flyer,” Craig said after Narrabri’s War Veterans Cup triumph on Sunday.
They put on 144 for the first wicket, Ward hitting 71 off 89 and Kirk 64 off 82, clubbing five fours and a six along the way.
Coming in with his side 2-153, Craig played a bit of a pinch-hitting role, smacking four sixes on his way to 65 off 47. Daniel Kahl also chipped in with an unbeaten 19 and provided valuable support to Craig, the two adding 61 for the sixth wicket.
Blake Jarrett was the pick of the Civeo bowlers with 2-35.
Civeo could only muster 9-134 in reply, Nick Smart (60) and skipper Lachlan Cameron (46) the leading lights.
“At first drinks we didn’t have a wicket but the blokes kept pressing,” Craig said.
Eventually the first wicket came, Kirk taking the return catch off Cameron.
Michael Cain and Ryan O’Neill bowled well early, Craig said, and were backed up well by Jelany Chilia.
In the other game Andy Irvine’s 53 underpinned RSL’s 135. Chris Sargent (5-17) bowled Crossroads back into it after RSL were 1-77 with well over half their innings remaining.
Crossroads were then in early trouble in reply at 4-28, and never recovered, with Tim Hayne’s 23 the best their batsmen had to offer as they scrambled to 99.
Jake Brayshaw was the destroyer, matching Sargent’s effort with 5-15.
