The Heart Foundation, along with 22 other health organisations, is lobbying the state government to extend public smoking bans to include e-cigarettes.
The current laws means people could vape on buses, in shopping centres and in schools if they wished.

NSW remains one of the last states in Australia to ban e-cigarettes in smoke-free public spaces.
Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory have already nixed vaping in smoke-free zones.
“E-cigarettes have been proven to be a potential gateway for young people to start smoking – and we already know that young people in NSW are taking up e-cigarettes more than any other age group,” Heart Foundation NSW’s Chief Executive Kerry Doyle said.
“Years of tobacco cigarette research have revealed that smoke-free areas are a critical strategy to reducing the attractiveness of smoking to children and young people.
“We now need to apply what we know to e-cigarettes.”
