POLICE are investigating after hundreds of litres of diesel was stolen from a worksite on the outskirts of Tamworth.

The diesel was taken from an excavator and two heavy vehicles parked at the development site on Moore Creek Road, near the intersection of Bournes Lane near Windmill Hill.
Police said the theft, which is believed to have been about $450-500 worth of fuel, occurred overnight while the vehicles and machinery were secured.
Anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles in the area is being urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
Meanwhile, police are searching for a Toyota Hilux stolen from an East Tamworth house late on Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday.
Police said the white 2015 dual-cab ute had ‘Agracon’ signage on the side, and was discovered missing about 5.30am on Wednesday, prompting a public appeal.
