At roughly 12.15pm, the fire started at Gunnembene Lane, Carroll.
At one stage, the blaze was a threat to a property but firefighters quickly contained that part of the fire, a Rural Fire Service spokesperson told Fairfax Media.
A total of 23 firefighters and nine firetrucks from the Rural Fire Service attended the scene.
Along with members of the RFS, farmers in their own vehicles helped fight the fire.
Smoke was affecting the roadway and police were on scene to control traffic.
Fire crews worked at the scene for five hours before the fire was under control.
The blaze comes after data from the Rural Fire Service revealed more than 11,000 fires had broken out across NSW since July last year burning 237,869 hectares of land and sparking seven emergency warnings.
