POLICE have confirmed the driver of a ute has died in hospital following Monday afternoon’s crash at Manilla, near Tamworth.
Investigations into the cause of the crash on the Fossickers Way, or Manilla-Tamworth Road, continue.
The man, believed to be aged 64, suffered significant arm and pelvic injuries.
He was rushed to Tamworth hospital in a critical condition.
He died on Monday night, police confirmed.
A 39-year-old man, inside the oncoming truck, was trapped for sometime and suffered chest, leg and back pain.
A second man inside the truck suffered a shoulder injury.
Both were taken to Tamworth hospital by ambulance and were believed to be in a stable condition.

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said two other male patients were freed from the wreckage of the truck and suffered minor injuries.
Both were assessed at the scene by paramedics but were not transported to hospital, the Ambulance spokesperson said.
Police are investigating why the Nissan Navara left the roadway and collided with the truck and investigations into the crash are continuing.
A brief will now be prepared for the coroner.
ONE person has been taken to Tamworth hospital with serious injuries and another two are being treated on scene at Manilla.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed two patients were trapped in a light rigid truck, 2km out of Manilla.
Six Ambulance units responded to the crash shortly after 4pm.
A man, believed to be aged 60, suffered significant arm injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage of the truck.
He was rushed to Tamworth hospital in a serious condition.
Two other patients in the truck, including one man believed to be aged in his twenties, were removed from the wreckage and were being treated by paramedics on scene, a spokesperson confirmed.
The road is expected to remain closed for sometime with extra police called to examine the crash scene.
Motorists are being diverted around a grassed track at the scene.
It’s understood the truck was carrying herbicide.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.

EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a car and truck crash at Manilla on Monday afternnon.
Police, paramedics and rescue services were called to Fossickers Way, or the Manilla-Tamworth Road, shortly after 4pm.
It’s understood several people have been injured, and at least one person is trapped.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
VRA, RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW, police, paramedics are on scene and it’s understood the Westpac Rescue Helicopter has also been tasked.
