Katey reflects on TCMF 2018
Another day we wish we were still in Tamworth! Today was the Golden Guitar Awards! We are back home, but what kind of Country Music fans would we be if we weren’t soaking up all of the ‘behind the scenes’ action via social media platforms? And boy, did I soak it up!
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see much of the show itself. Although, as Shayne and the rest of our band set up for our Saturday night gig, I snuck away for a moment or two. I tuned into Amber Lawrence’s acceptance speech and I am very glad I did, to be so inspired in just a few minutes was priceless.
Knowing that even the most successful artists, like Amber Lawrence, have struggled throughout their career. Struggled to see the point in continuing, struggled to financially support themselves, struggled when it’s never their name being called out. Knowing that after all of this, they persevered, they worked hard and believed in their dreams and made it happen.
Congratulations to all artists who were nominated and those who won Golden Guitars tonight, you are all amazing and inspiring! It is lovely to know we are in this together and there is no dream too out of reach, all we need to do is work hard for it and believe in ourselves!

Abbie reflects on TCMF2018
It is my last night in Tamworth. What a crazy 10 days! I have honestly had the best time and it will be sad to leave all the amazing new friends I have met. I feel so lucky to have been apart of the festival, spending my days watching and performing is everything I love. Sitting here writing this last article for all you leader readers has really made me think, It is all coming to an end. I have experienced so many firsts and I’m no longer a Tamworth virgin.
I turned 18 not long ago and I have so much to learn in music and in life. The time I have spent here has taught me a lot about independence, friendship, and most of all my love for music. I want to do it for the rest of my life.
I’m so thankful for all the opportunities I was given. Thankyou leader readers for experiencing all of this with me. Untill next time...
Love Abbie xoxo
