Mrs Bielefeld painted a mural on a Warral Rd bus-stop in Coledale last year and the community was disappointed to find it vandalised with a racist comment on Tuesday.
The artist said she was “heartbroken” to find the piece spoiled, but Mrs Bielefeld said she already had a few designs in mind for an updated mural at the bus-stop.

“They haven’t won, I’m going to do it again,” she said.
“And if it happens again, I’ll do it again.
“They can knock me down, but they won’t knock me out.”
She’s vowed to redo the mural “bigger and better” at her own cost.
Mrs Bielefeld received a lot of positive feedback about the artwork and a lot of people were “disappointed and upset” to see it defaced in such a way.
She would be keen to do more murals around town and said she’s driven by passion.
“I’m proud of my culture and I have a passion for it,” she said.
Mrs Bielefeld’s daughter took to social media to paint a picture of her mother’s commitment to the piece.
“My mum was the artist behind this bus stop, and I can say she spent hours everyday for over 2 weeks painting,” Jodee Lillian Bell said.
“No matter the weather. She wanted to show she was proud of her culture and mum was absolutely heartbroken when she saw they had done this.
“It was the one thing she was most proud of and someone did this. It took a lot of time and effort. All off her own paint, she didn't get paid to do this.
“And also having a bad leg she still stood and did it for the community.”
