OUTRIGHT victories to Court House and Albion in the latest round of Gunnedah District Cricket Association two-day action has set up a tantalising one-day encounter between the clubs on February 3.

Court House picked up where they left of from their impressive day-one performance at Kitchener Park by claiming the final Kookaburra wickets early on day two on Saturday.
Brad Gander was the pick of the Court House bowlers in the second innings, picking up 6-16 off 10 overs to help bowl Kookaburras out for a disappointing 78, giving Court House a victory by and innings and 55 runs.
Kookaburras skipper Shane Riordan said consistency would be his side’s focus for the rest of the season.
“We need to get a full-strength side together for both weeks going forward,” he said. “Hopefully if we can do that we can produce some more consistent performances.”
Court House captain Farran Lamb said he was pleased with his side’s all-round performance, particularly the efforts of veteran Brad Gander.
“Brad has a had a great season so far,” he said.
“He’s scored some good runs for us and taken plenty of wickets as well.
“Today was a good result for us and hopefully it will keep us in good stead and help us claim a top spot later in the season.”
In the other GDCA first grade game, Albion was able to wrap up outright points against Mornington at Wolsely Park.
Needing 130 runs to make Albion bat again, Mornington stuck to their guns and faced 39 overs before eventually succumbing and being bowled out for 65.
Nicholas Willoughby and Jason Rose were defiant with the bat for Mornington, batting patiently for their 15 runs. But it wasn’t enough to stop Albion walking away with an outright victory.
Luke Ryan was the pick of Albion’s bowlers in the second innings, claiming 3-17.
Ryan was backed up by leg spinner Will Maggs (2-20) and Hayden Baker (1-2).
The outright victories for Court House and Albion are a perfect lead in to the clubs’ February 3 clash at Kitchener Park.
Albion’s James Mack said the day-night game will be exciting.
“We will be wearing full coloured clothes and will be playing half the game under lights”, he said.
“Hopefully we can get a good turn out to what is a must-win game for both sides."
Mornington and Kookaburras will searching for their first wins of the season in their one-day game on February 3.
