Having won the toss and electing to field, Albion lead by Michael King (four for 12) restricted Kookaburras to a total of just 49.
Despite the efforts of Glen McArthur (13) the Kookaburras lost regular wickets to be all out in the 24th over.
In reply Albion struggled for consistency on the McAndrew Park pitch and soon found themselves in trouble at four for 27 thanks to a hat trick from Kookaburras youngster Jayden Winsor, who finished with figures of four for 13 off five overs.
Zach Wheatland steadied the ship for Albion scoring an unbeaten 20 to guide his side home in the 18th over.
Meanwhile Court House and Mornington played out a tight encounter at Longmuir Oval.
Winning the toss and batting first Mornington posted a very competitive first innings total of 166 thanks to the lower order batting of Jono Middlebrook (33) and Andrew Ceeney (29).
Court House bowled tightly throughout the innings, with Luke Ibester ( 2 for 9) and Oscar King (2 for 20) leading the way with the ball.
In reply Court House got off to a slow start losing Oscar King early with the score on 5.
Despite the early setback, Kaleb and Grant McIlveen quickly helped rebuild the innings finishing with 28 a piece.
Unfortunately for Court House they could not keep the momentum going, slumping from three for 69 to being all out for 114.
Brent Nelson’s five for 24 and Jono Middlebrook’s three for 21 helped Mornington run through the middle and lower order on their way to victory.
All GDCA sides will enjoy a break over the Australia Day long weekend before returning for more cricket on February 3.
