And 2018 is proving no exception.
Festival goers have been taking a reprieve from a string of consecutive 40-degree days by flocking to air-conditioned concerts to catch their favourite acts, whether it’s the pubs, shopping centres, hotels or motels.
Don’t expect any respite from the onslaught of heat over the next few days, as the mercury is tipped to hit the 40s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

In Tamworth on Sunday, the country music capital reached a top of 40 degrees, with north-easterly winds of 20 to 30 km/h becoming light in the middle of the day then turning in a north-early and south-easterly direction of 15 to 20 km/h in the evening, according to Weatherzone.
Monday is forecast to match the weekend’s top temperature, hitting a high of 40 degrees.
Tuesday will also reach the 40s with the mercury expected to get up to 41 degrees Celsius, before cooling off on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the temperature reaching 40, 37 and 34 degrees respectively.
Campers, take note, there is also a chance for possible showers on Friday and Saturday.
The extreme heat comes as the region grapples with a number of nearby bushfires.
The Newell Highway is currently closed between Narrabri and Coonabarabran due to fire activity.
