The fundraiser raised more than $3000 which will fund a scholarship, for an emerging artist to attend the Senior Academy of Country Music.
Travis Collins hosted the concert, which included performances by Judah Kelly, Ashleigh Dallas, Luke Austen, Kristy Cox and Lyn Bowtell.
Bowtell is the director of the academy and she took to the stage towards the end of the concert to inform the packed house that the fundraising goal of financing a scholarship had been reached on the night.
The audience included plenty of young country artists who have already experienced the benefits of the academy.
The academy, which costs young country artists several thousand dollars to attend, is held in the two weeks leading up to the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Over the last 20 years, many of Australia’s emerging country artists have attended the academy – previously called the Country Music College – to learn aspects of the industry, including songwriting and stagecraft.
