Honky Tonk Heroes hit the stage at Moonshiners Bar at the Family Hotel on Saturday night, which would leaves many fans asking who this band is?
But the identities of the line-up have been revealed on social media, and it includes some of country music’s biggest stars.
Travis Collins – who won three Golden Guitars a year ago – is the hosting the show, which also includes winner of The Voice, Judah Kelly, local Golden Guitar winner Ashleigh Dallas, a couple of Star Maker winners in Luke Austen and Liam Brew, along with Nashville-based bluegrass sensation Kristy Cox.
US artist John Stone is in Tamworth and will also be performing, along with a few surprise artists.
The concert tonight at Moonshiners is a fundraiser. It aims to fund a scholarship for a young artist to attend the CMAA Academy of Country Music, which costs several thousand dollars,
The academy is held for two weeks in the lead up to the festival each year where artists learn about songwriting, performing and other aspects of the industry.
Tickets cost $30 and are available from oztix.com.au, the Longyard bottleshop, or at the door tonight if they haven’t sold out.
