The pool closed its doors to the public at about 2pm on Friday when contractors went in to deal with a “circulation issue” in the pool.
Swimmers looking for an afternoon dip were left high and dry with a sign dropped outside the pool saying the facility was closed for “general maintenance”.
A council spokeswoman said the city pool was expected to return to normal operating hours on Saturday morning, due to open at 7am.
The Scully pool remained open through afternoon and residents were encouraged to check the MyTRC app for updates.
