Community College Northern Inland continues to enrich the lives and expand the horizons of more than 3300 people each year.
The college has new programs and a new website and enrolment system.
Community College Northern Inland incorporates campuses in Barraba, Bingara, Gunnedah, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri and Warialda.
“We are local first and foremost and we offer the courses that are required; often at no charge via government funded programs,” executive officer Alison Heagney said.
The college’s signature specialisations are aged care, disability services and community care, first aid, industry safety licensing, foundation skills for learning and business administration.
The college will host Orientation sessions in many of its certificate-level courses this year along with “tasters”, consisting of only a few units and run over a short time-frame.
Online study will be offered by the college for the first time.
The college is offering a range of popular business courses in the Tech Savvy Small Business Program.

Narrabri locals Jameah Toomey and Alan Owens upskilled with Joblink Plus Training and now have new careers.
Jameah left school in Year 10 and took a job at McDonalds, before landing a job at a dental practice.
But when a position for a trainee administration assistant came up at Joblink Plus, Jameah jumped at it, and is now undertaking training while working.
Alan undertook a partial Certificate III in Hospitality through Joblink Plus Training. After completing the classroom course, Alan landed a position at the Adelong Motel in Narrabri, where he’ll finish his qualification.
Alan and Jameah are building on their skills, and progressing into further training.
Joblink Plus Training Lead Trainer Leesa Mercer, who trained Alan, says: “We can get anything organised for students.”
The NSW Government has put its support behind jobseekers in regional communities, subsidising training in the job application process.
Eligible participants at Tamworth Community Collegecan access fully funded, interactive workshops over the next three months designed for people looking for their first job, their preferred job or a promotion.
“The college is doing a great job in getting our community into work, and this course will help put them at the front of the queue,” Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said.
Students will learn to identify transferable skills for job applications, create a resumé, complete a cover letter and address selection criteria.
The college’s executive officer Michelle Simpson said:
“The job market is incredibly competitive and it is often difficult and discouraging to apply for job after job and not get an interview.
“Our team of student support officers … will provide guidance in what to expect at a job interview and how to prepare to give yourself the best possible chance of impressing an employer.”
