The boys had their final training run on Thursday morning, and trained well.
They have been drawn in Pool B alongside Drummoyne Devils, UTS Balmain Tigers, who they play first-up on Friday, Sydney University Lions Blue and Canberra Dolphins, and should be competitive.
“If we can come middle of the pack that will be good result. Top four would be excellent but realistically anywhere from four to six would be an expectation,” he said.
The majority of the side are top age, and Hofman will be looking to the likes of Will Clinch, Isaac Moxon, Pat Hofman and Jake Mitchell to lead the way.
“We’ve got four bottom age players – Cameron Martin, Edmund Bourke, Liam Mair and Harry Bailey. They’ve been training really well and a couple of them had a bit of experience coaching at Balmain,” he said.
Tamworth isn’t fielding a girls side but do have Lucy Hofman, Giann White, Lara Taggart and Billie Mitchell playing for the Country Composite side.
