Fire and Rescue NSW crews along with ambulance and police rushed to the Caltex Woolworths on Bridge Street after a car collided with a petrol bowser, just before 9.30am.
A spokesperson for Ambulance NSW said a male, believed to be able 60, was treated at the scene but declined transport to hospital.
Haley Baldock had just paid for fuel when she saw the car “speed over the nature strip hump … and straight up and over the footpath into the petrol bowser”.
“There were loud bangs as both his tyres on the driver's side had popped,” she said.

“The lady filling up her car was screaming and everyone was in shock so I ran over to the old bloke turned his car off, took his keys, undone his seat belt and helped him out. Then another man ran over to help me lift him up.”
The crash shut the petrol station for much of the day as repair crews worked to restore the bowser.
