Police will allege in court a forensic hit from evidence taken from the scene of the break-and-enter at City Lights Caravan Park on January 14, 2017, provided the breakthrough they needed in the investigation.

The office to the caravan park, on the corner of the New England Highway and Burgmann’s Lane, was broken into about 9pm.

Police said offenders gained access and ransacked the reception area and stole a man’s wallet as well as a cheque and a vehicle.

Following investigations, a now-18-year-old boy was charged by police from the Tamworth Target Action Group (TAG) with aggravated break-and-enter and commit serious indictable offence.

He appeared in Tamworth Children’s Court this week where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. 

Police will compile a brief of evidence before the case returns to court in February. 

He remains bail refused.
