Tamworth Podiatry Centre director Simon Burnett was happy to accept the winner’s trophy for taking out the Tamworth medical blood donation challenge 2017.
But he was more pleased that he was able to create awareness on the importance of blood and plasma donation in our region.
“My main aim was to get people to donate and continue donating,” he said.
“At Tamworth Podiatry Centre we have allocated time during business hours for staff to donate blood each month and I hope more businesses do the same. It’s such a safe and easy thing to do.
“And most importantly if can be life saving - a single donation potentially can safe three lives.
“I would like to set up another challenge in 2018 and hope more businesses come on board.
“By volunteering your time, you could be saving someone’s life and that’s a charitable, easy action.
“The great donating centre at south Tamworth, friendly staff and lovely volunteers who make the milkshakes afterwards make it a great experience.”
