With the season to kick off on Saturday, April 7, Walcha, Barraba, Manilla, South West Robins and Wee Waa have nominated teams but Group 4 is keen to attract five new teams to even out the draw.
This is to allow all clubs to have the opportunity to play a full home and away season with their men’s sides.
Under the CRL guidelines, the five new teams that are selected will be independent entities but will be aligned to one of the other Group 4 Rugby League men’s reserve grade shield clubs in Narrabri, Gunnedah, Collegians, North Tamworth and Bendemeer.
A statement from Group 4 read: “this an ideal opportunity for new teams and team members to experience the challenges of a new game, whilst also providing an ideal introduction to the skills required to play in the ladies full contact rugby league competition.”
If anyone would like to lodge an expression of interest or gain more information, contact Group 4 secretary Mr Peter Blom on 0408 658 154 or group4secretary@gmail.com.
