She’s one third of Bennett Bowtell and Urquhart who will perform at Wests’ League Club on Wednesday, January 24.
She’ll then take to the stage at The Albert Hotel on Sunday, January 28, the last day of the festival, where she will reunite with her old band Southern Steel.
Bowtell described the fit between the musicians as “like a glove” and they played like they had never been apart regardless of the time between gigs.
The six-time Golden Guitar winner introduced fans to a new and edgier sound this year through the release of the EP, Calling You, in September.
She has recently undergone treatment for endometriosis - a condition which left her with crippling pain in last year’s Tamworth festivities and says she’s looking forward to returning “pain-free”.
“I’m back with my old band, Southern Steel, and gosh that was fun in 2017,” she said.
“We always have heaps of fun. We are still really immature adults, our jokes have not changed in 20-odd years.
“It’s so great to look at your high school band and get back together and realise you’re all still doing pretty serious things in the industry.”
Bowtell hinted that a few famous friends will join in at the gig - including a famous friend who just took out a national television competition.
She said she had also been working on new music with Bennett, Bowtell and Urquhart and was looking forward to getting back into the studio to record the trio’s latest album in the new year.
“This year I will be able to enjoy myself and not be in pain,” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to having a nice time with my mates and singing some great music.
“To be able to go to the awards and just enjoy them will be really nice as well. I look forward every time I come to Tamworth and sing to people.
“This is my passion, my love, my hobby and full time job and I’m very lucky.”
