Weather
Hot – so remember your sunscreen, water and hat when you venture down town and outside, but if you are looking for a little more detail we’re heading for a top of 41 degrees on Tuesday, January 23.
The weather man says there is a slight chance of rain in the afternoon and early evening, but we will only believe it when we see it. Overnight temps will fall to about 20 degrees.
There’s also a very high fire danger in place.
And on that note … stay hydrated!
We’re up and down Peel street at the moment so we know the cool spots. Here are some places where you can refill your water bottles in the CBD:
- Peel Street – Outside Tamworth Square
- Peel Street – outside Westpac bank – near Brisbane street
- Peel Street – at the Toyota mist on the corner of Fitzroy and Peel street
- At the bottom of Fitzroy street in the Bicentennial park – near the fountain
Just look out for the Water refill stations.
Parking and toilets
Got stuck yesterday and couldn’t find a place to park? Or maybe you really needed to go and couldn’t find a loo close by? – if you need one of these essentials today then we’ve got you covered with this handy map.
Live and Loud in the Park
If you're after music with an edge and a country rock and pop feel, look no further than Toyota Park on Tuesday night. It's the Live and Loud concert at Toyota Park and it's bound to get you in the mood to party. The event will showcase some of the industry's brightest and emerging young artists including Kaylens Rain, Judah Kelly and many more. It all kicks off from 7pm, bring your chair, bring a picnic rug and settle in for a night of free entertainment at Toyota Park.
- Were you at last year's Live and Loud? We’ve got all the photos here.
Matt under the Marquee
He is a Tamworth man turned Newcastle resident, but Matt Scullion is back on home turf on Tuesday. Head on over to the Albert Hotel from 1.30pm and catch this fantastic singer/songwriter in action. It's set to be a ripper of a gig, with Scullion releasing his first album in more than a decade - I'm Just a Song.
Our top picks for day five
1: Bill Chambers is one of the most sought after acts at the festival. Don’t miss out on his exceptional talent at the Bill Chambers Room at The Pub from midday. It’s a free show, so bring the whole family and experience that legendary country music that has been onto the Chambers children, Nash and Kasey.
2: Marie Hodson brings to you a spectacular showcase of all the classic songs from Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and George Jones. Head along to the Tamworth Capitol Theatre from 2.30pm where Donella Waters and Matt James will join in on the action to deliver a fantastic show. With the Texas Troubadours, a six piece band oozing yesteryear, Wendy Wood and Carolyn Morris as harmony singers, it will make for one of the best shows in town. Don’t forget to grab your tickets from the venue.
3. If you want to get away form the hustle and bustle of Tamworth’s CBD and take some time out from the music, we have the perfect getaway for you. Why not head out to our premier equine facility - AELEC - and check out the Ironman 4x4 ABCRA Junior Rodeo National Finals. It all kicks off with entertainment from 6pm and promises an action-packed competition with the best young people in the business battling it out. Grab your tickets from the gates on the day.
