He's been writing the hits for his country music colleagues, and it was only fitting that acclaimed singer songwriter Matt Scullion should write his own, too.

After spending six years in Nashville, immersed in the home of country music and its songs, Scullion will launch his new album I'm Just a Song at the festival.
Fans have already had a taste of what Scullion has to offer after the release this year of the first two singles from the record after he signed with Social Family Records.
He also played a role in writing the hit song Our Backyard, sung by Travis Collins and Amber Lawrence. He is also up for two Golden Guitar awards this year for his efforts with the hit.
The former Tamworth local will return to the country music capital in January for three big gigs, including the Matt Scullion Band Show at The Albert Hotel on Tuesday, January 23 from 1.30pm where he will officially launch the album.
"It's still early days but the music has been really well received," he said.
"I always planned on getting back into the saddle, but the reason why I decided to go off and be a songwriter was because I wanted to go over and live in Nashville.
"I'd been there many times, but I wanted to immerse myself in it."
A three-month visa for Nashville turned into a six-year stint for Scullion.
"I never saw myself as just a songwriter, I always saw myself as doing both. I always intended on doing another album," he said.
It's been 10 years since Scullion's last release and he says he's proud of how it all turned out.
He said he's looking forward to heading back to the festival with a band and showing his new material to the crowds.
"I've got so much on but I'll still have enough time to get around and catch up with everybody," he said.
"I'm really excited to be bringing the band back to Tamworth. I haven't had the band together for about 10 years and am looking forward to bringing my totally original show to The Albert Hotel."
On Australia Day, Scullion will also perform in the Scullion Sessions, a songwriting show at The Loft, above Hog's Breath Cafe, featuring Tania Kernaghan and Drew McAlister.
